How to Use This Template

  1. 1.## Step 1: Identify Your High-Friction Workflow
  2. 2.**Start with operational debt, not tools.** Review your team's calendar, time-tracking data, and recent complaints. Where are people stuck in approvals, rework, or coordination? Where is revenue leaking because of slow execution? Pick one workflow where AI can remove a clear bottleneck—not the most exciting AI use case, but the one where time is actually bleeding. Fill in Section 1 (The Problem) with brutal honesty about what's broken and why it matters to revenue or team capacity.
  3. 3.## Step 2: Define the Specific AI Intervention
  4. 4.**Be narrow and concrete.** Don't say "AI will improve content creation." Say "AI will draft email subject lines for A/B testing, and a human will select the top 3 before send." In Section 2, describe exactly what task AI handles, what tool you'll use, where it plugs into the workflow, and what humans still decide. This clarity prevents scope creep and keeps the experiment focused enough to run in 4-6 weeks.

  6. 6.**Pick one number that proves ROI to your CFO.** Don't measure 10 things. Measure the one metric that directly ties to revenue, cost, or capacity (e.g., "hours saved per campaign cycle" or "pipeline value generated per week"). Fill Section 3 completely—baseline, target, and how you'll measure it. This metric becomes your go/no-go decision point. If you hit it, you scale. If you miss it, you pivot or stop. No ambiguity.

Also flag data, brand, and compliance risks upfront. Governance isn't a blocker—it's a design requirement.
